Why Do We Need Salvation?
The Bible teaches that every person is a sinner. This includes all of us. No one is born righteous, and no one is good enough to earn eternal life on their own.
Romans 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Because of sin, we are separated from God. Sin brings spiritual death and eternal separation if it is not forgiven.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Without salvation, we cannot have fellowship with God. But God loves us and made a way for salvation.
Gods Love and His Provision
God did not leave us without hope. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die in our place.
Romans 5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Jesus Christ lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
How Can I Be Saved?
Salvation is not earned by good works, church attendance, or religious effort. Salvation is a gift from God, received by faith.
Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
The Bible tells us clearly how to be saved.
Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Romans 10:13
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
You Can Be Saved Right Now
You do not have to be in a church building.
You can come to Jesus Christ right now, exactly as you are.
John 6:37
All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
A Prayer of Salvation
Prayer itself does not save you. Jesus Christ saves you. But if you believe these truths and desire to trust Him, you may pray something like this:
Dear God,
I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself.
I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son.
I believe that He died for my sins and rose again.
I turn from my sin and place my trust in Jesus Christ alone.
Please forgive me, save me, and make me Your child.
Thank You for Your grace and eternal life.
In Jesus name, Amen.
If you prayed this prayer sincerely, trusting Jesus Christ, Gods Word says you are saved.
1 John 5:12
He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
What Should I Do Next?
Salvation is the beginning of a new life in Christ.
- Read the Bible daily (the Gospel of John is a good place to start)
- Pray and talk to God regularly
- Connect with a Bible believing church
- Tell someone about your decision
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Did you accept Christ today? We would love to hear from you!
